Criminalistics Training for Future Police Officers

Students at the police academy had the opportunity to delve into the field of criminalistics and acquire practical skills from experienced police professionals, which will be beneficial in their future service.

The meeting took place at the training complex of the Odessa Academy of Police's initial professional training center.

Experts from the criminalistics department of the National Police of Ukraine in the Odessa region, including Tetyana Skyrtenko, Natalia Rybak, and Pavlo Apalkov, shared their invaluable knowledge with the students of the pre-trial investigation department.

The officers not only explained the nuances of their profession but also showcased the critical role of specialists during crime scene investigations. At a specially staged location, future investigators observed the processes of searching and documenting crime scene evidence, collecting material proofs, and their proper packaging.

During the event, students tried on special protective suits used by police officers in their daily duties, filled out fingerprint cards, and collected biological traces.

The event was conducted in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere, with the best reward for the organizers being the genuine interest and engagement from the youth.

At the end of the meeting, the criminalists wished the students self-confidence, resilience, and professional growth.
