Revamped National Defense Education in Odesa Schools
The introduction of the revised subject "National Defense" in Odesa schools, along with the equipping of classrooms with modern facilities, represents a significant development in the education sector.
This subject fosters a conscious awareness among the youth about the importance of defending their country and helps them understand safety measures and emergency preparedness.
Odesa has established eight modern centers equipped with all necessary tools, models, and training ranges, making it the first in the country to do so. Students from several schools will benefit from this initiative. Classes will be led by experienced educators who have undergone specialized training, some even having firsthand experience from the war.
High school students will learn how to act in dangerous situations and provide first aid. Additionally, the curriculum will cover modern warfare tactics.
«In a situation where you are neighboring a terrorist state, this knowledge and skill set is crucial for every Ukrainian,» stated Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
