Sports Competitions in Odesa: New Achievements of Students
The II (territorial) stage of the sports competitions within the framework of the physical education project «Side by Side: Nationwide School Leagues» was held in Odesa for students of general education institutions in the 2024/2025 academic year.
Specifically, school teams competed in volleyball and rugby-5.
According to the results of the volleyball competitions among girls from grades 5-9, teams from Odesa Lyceums № 7, 56, 86, and Odesa Gymnasium № 25 advanced to the city III stage; among girls from grades 9-11 – Odesa Lyceums № 13, 51, 62, and the team from Odesa Specialized School № 32.
The winners of the II stage of volleyball among boys from grades 5-9 were the teams from Odesa Lyceums № 5, 89, and Odesa Gymnasium № 77; among boys from grades 9-11 – Odesa Lyceums № 24, 84, «Lanzheronivskyi», and the team from Odesa Specialized School № 32.
The rugby-5 competitions among students of general education institutions were held in the city’s sports halls for the first time. This exciting game develops speed, coordination, team spirit, and strategic thinking, allowing teams to create original tactical situations that require good communication and interaction from players.
The winners of the II stage of rugby-5 competitions were the teams from Odesa Lyceums № 28, 40, and 69.
All participants in these sports competitions demonstrated a high level of preparation, skill, and an unwavering will to win. New heights are ahead, so the teams are diligently preparing for the next competitions.

The project «Side by Side: Nationwide School Leagues» is the largest student competition in the country among students of general education institutions in the 2024/2025 academic year, held under the slogan «Together We Will Win». The goal is to increase the number of students who engage in sports regularly and lead a healthy lifestyle.
