New Digital Education Centers in Ukraine
In southern Ukraine, a significant event has occurred: the Association of Innovative and Digital Education (AIDE) in collaboration with UNICEF has launched 46 digital education centers, with 19 established in the Odesa region with local administrative support.
The primary mission of these centers is to provide equal access to quality education for students who, due to war or other circumstances, are unable to learn in traditional settings.
These centers assist students in catching up on educational losses, offer psychosocial support, and provide various life skills lessons and engaging activities using modern digital tools.
Today marks the official opening of new digital education centers in the Mayaki community at the local lyceum and in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi at Gymnasium No. 2.
Among the attendees were representatives from the Odesa Regional State Administration, including Deputy Head Anton Shalyhaylo, Director of the Education Department Oleksandr Lonchak, and coordinators from UNICEF and AIDE.
At DLS No. 25 (village Mayaki), guests were introduced to the center's technical and methodological resources and discussed its further development while visiting a class with 11th graders using the Ecosystem for catching up on educational losses through Artificial Intelligence.
At DLS No. 17, center coordinators familiarized guests with all available services for teachers and students in terms of learning and overall development.
During the opening, students showcased their work with quizzes on school subjects and general knowledge, as well as their play in «Minecraft Education,» where they learn to navigate real-life situations and solve problems independently.
“We are committed to enhancing educational opportunities for youth. Recently, we have significantly improved students' access to in-person education by creating safe and comfortable environments, including the establishment of these Digital Education Centers. This initiative is made possible thanks to our partners – UNICEF and the Association of Innovative and Digital Education, for which we are truly grateful,” – noted Anton Shalyhaylo.
