New Phase of Accessibility in Odesa

Odesa is embarking on a new phase of the ‘Barrier-Free Movement’ project in collaboration with the Ministry of Community Development.

At the recent meeting of the Accessibility Council with the Mayor of Odesa, a new segment of the accessibility route was approved, scheduled for 2025. This route will extend from Kishiniovska Street to the Central Administrative Service Center of the Peresyp Administration.

The project includes extensive work to create an inclusive environment: modernization of sidewalks, enhancement of transport stops, and ensuring accessibility for all residents.

“We are actively working on replacing tracks, improving transport junctions, and updating the fleet. In addition to tram services, we plan to organize a pedestrian route as well. The city is ready to cover part of the expenses,” stated Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

This project is part of a larger initiative to establish the longest inclusive tram route in Ukraine, ‘North-South’, for which 127 million UAH has already been earmarked.
