Odesa's Commitment to National Accessibility Initiative

Odesa has joined the national meeting of accessibility ambassadors. The first gathering of ambassadors took place in Kyiv.

The event was inaugurated by key figures including Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba, UNICEF representative Munir Mamedzade, and Tatiana Lomakina, President’s Advisor on Accessibility.

Valentyna Khoruzha, head of the Youth Council under the Odesa Mayor, represented Odesa at the meeting and shared the city's experience in fostering accessible spaces, as well as establishing collaborations with ambassadors from other regions.

“I am proud to be an ambassador for the ‘Movement Without Barriers’ project and to be part of a team that is changing the country for the better,” said Valentyna Khoruzha.

The ‘Movement Without Barriers’ is a flagship project of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, launched as part of Olena Zelenska's initiative ‘Without Barriers’. It encompasses 15 pilot communities where accessible routes to essential social facilities are being created, ensuring unhindered movement for all people with mobility challenges.
