Enhancing Accessibility in Odesa: New Initiatives and Projects
Recently, an important meeting took place in Odesa between the municipal team and representatives of the «Partnership for a Strong Ukraine» (PFRU) program. The focus was on discussing issues related to accessibility and inclusivity in the city.
During the dialogue, several key initiatives that are already underway in Odesa were highlighted:
- the establishment of an accessibility route «East - West» as part of the National Accessibility Strategy;
- improvements in rehabilitation services;
- comprehensive support for veterans and their families;
- educational programs on accessibility for students;
- creating a city space that is comfortable for all.
Odesa's deputy mayor, Pavlo Vugelman, expressed gratitude to the director of the «Resilient Population» project, Oleksii Mykhailichenko, and his team for their ongoing support of Odesa and its residents.

PFRU is a multi-donor initiative funded by the British Embassy in Kyiv, the Estonian Embassy in Kyiv, the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kyiv, the Finnish Embassy in Kyiv, the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine, and the Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv.
The «Resilient Population» project aims to strengthen the resilience of Ukrainian society by creating an inclusive environment for the socio-economic integration of vulnerable groups, including veterans, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, the elderly, and youth.
