Fraud Prevention in Odesa: Man Arrested for Assisting Military Conscripts with Exit Documents

This was reported by the Odesa police on February 13.

Investigators found that a 37-year-old man promised a friend a six-month deferment from military service due to health issues, allowing him to leave the country.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense in the Southern Region stated that false information was to be entered into the systems "Reserve+" and "Oberih". The price for such a service was set at 15 thousand dollars.

The Odesa resident was apprehended while receiving the money. Investigators seized the money, a mobile device, a vehicle, and documents. He was charged under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which could lead to a prison sentence of up to nine years with the possibility of losing the right to hold certain positions or engage in specific activities for up to three years, along with property confiscation.

The court selected a preventive measure of detention with the option of bail set at 908,400 hryvnias. As part of the investigation, police are identifying individuals who may have used the detained man's services.
