A New Arrival in Odesa: The First Girl of City Day
This year on City Day in Odesa, the first newborn was a little girl, born at 00:01 on September 2 in maternity hospital No. 5.
Her name is Ksenia; she weighs 3.5 kilograms and is 52 cm tall. Ksenia is the second child in her family, and both mother and daughter are doing well.
In Odesa, there is a lovely tradition of bringing gifts to the maternity hospital where the first baby of City Day is born.
Odesa’s mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, personally congratulated Ksenia and all the new parents on this special occasion.
“I congratulate all the newborns and families who welcomed children on our city's birthday. May your children grow up healthy and happy in free Ukraine,” said Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
On September 2, a total of 19 babies were born in Odesa: 12 girls and 7 boys.
