Illegal Fishing Incident: Consequences for the Offender
During a fisheries inspection, state inspectors, along with border guards and police, uncovered a significant violation of fishing rules.
This was reported by the Odessa Fisheries Patrol.
A man was caught in the Belgorod Channel illegally catching fish using prohibited methods – nets. He captured 9 white amurs and 34 carp, totaling over 100 kg in weight.
The damages to Ukraine's fish resources amounted to 158,746 hryvnias. A forensic team from the National Police was called to the scene. An administrative protocol was drawn up against the offender, and materials are being prepared to initiate a criminal case. The police confiscated the illegally caught fish, nets, and a wooden boat.
