Arsonist Arrested After Car Fire in Odessa
Odessa law enforcement successfully apprehended an individual responsible for the arson of vehicles in an underground parking facility in Arcadia. The suspect was identified and arrested on the same day, facing a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police.
A few days ago, during the curfew, a man entered the parking area of an apartment building, dousing and igniting two BMW vehicles belonging to a local woman. The flames quickly spread to nearby parked BMW and Hyundai cars owned by local men. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Authorities determined that the crime was committed by a 27-year-old resident of Mykolaiv. He was arrested while attempting to return home via a minibus. He has been charged with intentional damage to property through arson. The court imposed a preventive measure of custody with the option of posting a bail of 908,400 UAH. The man faces a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
