New Fare Changes for City Transport in Odesa: What to Expect
From 2022 to 2024, many cities in Ukraine have seen increases in public transport fares despite the ongoing wartime situation.
The current fare structure in Odesa, established in 2021, is now in need of revision due to rising costs of spare parts and materials.
Changes since 2022 have significantly raised the cost of providing transportation services, necessitating a reevaluation of fares.
KP "OMET" has conducted a recalculation of fares in compliance with existing regulations governing urban electric transport.
According to the new calculations, the fare for one passenger in trams and trolleybuses will be 17.69 UAH, while for the funicular, it will be 16.93 UAH.
The compliance of these calculations with the law has been verified by the Department of Economic Development.
To ensure the quality of passenger transport services and maintenance of the electric transport fleet, a new fare of 15.00 UAH for single journeys will be implemented by KP "OMET".
Concessions for students and pupils will remain in place, with fares set at 2.00 UAH for pupils and 4.00 UAH for students.
The fare increases in public transport are expected to take effect on December 1, 2024.
Additionally, starting from December 1, local transport providers plan to raise the fare to 20 UAH within the city and 40 UAH for routes beyond the city limits.
