Commemoration of Holodomor Victims in Odesa

At the Odesa Memorial Center «Territory of Memory», an event was held in honor of the Memorial Day for Holodomor victims, gathering educators from social studies disciplines.

During the meeting, participants learned about the importance of studying genocides of the 20th century, particularly in the context of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war.

Teachers were introduced to educational initiatives of the museum and provided with recommendations for teaching the tragic history of Holodomor to students of various ages, taking into account the current challenges of wartime.

Attendees discovered new facts about the Holodomor in Odesa region through an engaging lecture that highlighted the signs of genocide against the Ukrainian peasantry in 1932-1933.

Additionally, educators had the opportunity to explore the exhibition at the «Territory of Memory» museum dedicated to the topic of genocides.
