Financial Assistance for Newborns in 2025
In 2025, families welcoming a new child will still be eligible for financial compensation for the «baby package».
This financial assistance is a one-time payment for each live-born child to purchase necessary baby items: hygiene products, clothing, nutrition, toys, and more.
The compensation is provided to parents or, in their absence, to foster caregivers, adoptive parents, and guardians, in a cashless form through a special bank account participating in the «baby package» initiative. A list of such banks is available on the official website of the State Service for Children.
The amount of compensation is equivalent to three minimum living standards for children under six years old. Starting January 1, 2025, this amount will be 7689 UAH.
Applicants can request compensation:
- in person at the social protection department;
- by mail in paper form;
- electronically during birth registration via the «eMaljatko» service.
The compensation is granted if the application is submitted within 12 months from the child's birth.
Within a year of receiving the funds, parents can use the designated compensation for purchasing baby products at stores participating in the «baby package» program, with a list published on the Ministry of Social Policy's website.
Additionally, the natural assistance «baby package» is available to parents, containing over 50 quality items. In 2025, the package includes popular items such as reusable waterproof diapers and warm clothing, along with an increased blanket size.
