Visit of the Swedish Red Cross Delegation to Odesa

A delegation led by Ulrika Modeer, Secretary General of the Swedish Red Cross, recently visited Odesa as part of the collaboration with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

During the visit, the Swedish delegation toured the Psychosocial Support Center, which assists internally displaced persons and those affected by armed conflict.

Julia Haidary, director of the Odesa City Council Social Services Center, and Lyudmila Tsvitkova, head of the Psychosocial Support Center for IDPs and conflict-affected individuals, briefed the Swedish Red Cross representatives on the center's operations and their fruitful cooperation with the Odesa regional organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross. This partnership enables displaced individuals to receive ongoing psychosocial support and participate in joint initiatives aimed at helping those affected by conflict to adapt to their new surroundings.

At the conclusion of the event, Ulrika Modeer emphasized the importance of building local capacity.
