Teenagers' Dangerous Pranks: A Lesson for Parents
Fortunately, no one was harmed due to the reckless actions of the teenagers. Law enforcement conducted discussions with the children and filed administrative reports against their parents. They now face fines.
Recently, while monitoring social media, police discovered a video showing four teenagers in the entrance of an apartment building mixing household chemicals in a bottle and throwing it on the stairway, which caused an explosion.
After gathering this information, juvenile inspectors from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police identified the boys and tracked them down.
The police found out that local 12-year-old friends decided to replicate an experiment they saw in a social media video.
“These families had not come to the attention of law enforcement before. We warned the boys about the inappropriateness of such actions and reminded the parents of their responsibility to supervise their children. We filed reports against the adults under part 1 of Article 184 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, which pertains to the neglect of parents or guardians in fulfilling their duties regarding the upbringing of minors. This offense carries a fine of up to 1,700 UAH. The cases have been forwarded to court,” commented Pavlo Bobchynskyi, the head of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police.
Police urge parents to pay more attention to their children, explaining the dangers of household chemicals and other hazardous substances, as well as the consequences of unlawful actions.
