Financial Literacy Among Ukrainian Teenagers: New Study Findings
The findings indicate that the financial literacy of Ukrainian teenagers is at a basic level.
This information was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine.
The research revealed that the average percentage of correct answers on case studies among teenagers is 46.6%,
which corresponds to 3 points on a 12-point grading scale.
The highest results were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk (57.4%), Ivano-Frankivsk (53.7%) regions, and Kyiv (50.4%).
The lowest scores were observed in Kirovohrad (37.4%), Mykolaiv (39.7%), and Chernivtsi (41.4%) regions.
Girls achieved better results (47.4%) compared to boys (45.6%). Urban students had a performance of 48% while rural students scored 40%.
Notably, no teenager provided 100% correct answers to all cases presented in the survey.
The study was conducted by experts from the Ukrainian Institute of Social Studies named after O. Yaremenko in April 2024. The sample of participants was formed by employees of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Educational Analytics".
During the research, specialists tested over 3,000 students aged 14 to 17 from 19 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv.
