Inspection of the Black Sea Ravine: Environmental Concerns
On April 29, 2025, at the initiative of the Odessa City Council, a commission was organized to assess the technical and sanitary condition of the natural Black Sea ravine, from the Old Lustdorf Road to the «Chornomorka» beach.
The commission included representatives from the Department of Ecology, Kyiv District Administration, Department of Municipal Economy, Engineering Protection Administration, «City Roads» utility, and the «Infoksvodokanal» branch.
During the inspection, unauthorized discharges of household sewage from some private properties directly into the Black Sea ravine were discovered. However, no discharges were recorded entering the sea at the «Chornomorka» beach.
As a result of the inspection, relevant services and departments of the Odessa City Council were instructed to promptly eliminate the identified illegal sewage discharges, take measures to identify those responsible, and hold them accountable.
Additionally, inspections of other areas of the Black Sea ravine will be conducted to prevent potential unauthorized discharges of sewage.
