Yarmolenko Announces Retirement Plans for 2026
Legend of Kyiv's Dynamo, Andriy Yarmolenko, has announced he will retire after the 2025/26 season.
He shared this during an interview with the YouTube channel "Football News Center".
"I spoke with the head coach and the president. It was important for me to hear that I am still needed as a player. I do not wish to stay in the club based on past achievements. After hearing from the coach and president, I realized they see me as a key player. Therefore, I signed another year contract. Is this my last contract? I can confidently say that this will be my final year as a player," Yarmolenko stated.
Yarmolenko is a product of Chernihiv football. He has played 393 matches for Dynamo, scoring 157 goals, which ranks him third in the club's history. Ahead of him are only Serhiy Rebrov (163 goals) and Oleg Blokhin (265). He has also played abroad for Borussia Dortmund, Al Ain, and West Ham.
Additionally, he is a legend of the Ukrainian national team, with 125 caps and 46 goals to his name. He ranks second in both categories in the team's history. Excluding traitor Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Yarmolenko has the most appearances for the national team.
