Youth Muay Thai Championship in Odessa
The youth Muay Thai championship is taking place in Odessa, with more than 260 athletes competing from 15 regions of Ukraine.
A special highlight for the audience was the Wai Kru performance — a traditional dance that honors coaches, parents, and the martial art itself.
Young athletes were welcomed by the honorary president of the National Muay Thai Federation, Odessa's mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov:
«You are already winners because you have chosen strength, endurance, and dignity over easy paths. Train hard, put your heart into it — and the results will speak for themselves. It is people like you who build a strong Ukraine».
The championship will last for several days, with many exciting matches still to come.
The winners of the national selection will represent Ukraine in September at the world championship and will also participate in other international tournaments.
