Odesa Athletes Shine at Ukrainian Synchronised Swimming Championship
From November 15 to 18, the Ukrainian championship in synchronised swimming for juniors was held in the capital.
The event featured 65 athletes from various regions, including Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk.
The Odesa team represented by athletes from the Olympic reserve 'Chornomorets' specialized sports school and Odesa regional sports school.
In the junior technical solo event, Odesa athlete Vladyslava Kocherba claimed first place. In the duet events, the team of Sofia Sarukhanyan and Taisia Pochepynska secured third place in both categories.
In group competitions, the Odesa team consisting of Vladyslava Kocherba, Sofia Sarukhanyan, Yelyzaveta Siedova, Taisia Pochepynska, Maria Borysova, Anastasia Borysova, Eva Havalco, Sofia Dronova, Oleksandra Futorna, and Olena Aliyevska won silver in both technical and free programs, as well as bronze in acrobatic groups.
In the youth competition, Sofia Sarukhanyan won gold in the technical solo, and together with Yelyzaveta Siedova, the duo also took first place in the duet event.
Furthermore, the Odesa team comprising Yelyzaveta Siedova, Maria Borysova, Anastasia Borysova, Eva Havalco, Sofia Dronova, Oleksandra Futorna, and Olena Aliyevska earned gold medals in the combined group events.
The athletes were coached by Olga Nikolaychuk and Svitlana Pershina.
