Young Basketball Talents Shine in Odesa
On September 12-13, 2025, Odesa hosted the 30th basketball tournament dedicated to the esteemed coach of Ukraine, Joseph Yakovlevich Keselman. The event took place at the Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve named after Litvak B.D.
Five teams from southern Ukraine participated in the competition. This year, the teams «Crazy Jellyfish», «Mad Shrimp», and «Swallows» from SDYUSSHOR named after Boris Litvak, along with a team from Mykolaiv and the local club «YUG Basket» battled for the title.
The winners were the «Jellyfish» from SDYUSSHOR named after Boris Litvak, coached by Yulia Gladchenko.
The tournament continued on September 14 in a 3x3 format. At the Starobazarny Square courts, the girls participated in the open 21st Cup of the Odesa Regional Basketball Federation, dedicated to the Day of Physical Culture and Sports, in the U-15 category.
In addition to the teams competing in the 5x5 format, rivals from Izmail, Tatarbunary, and Chornomorsk joined, totaling 9 teams.
The victory at this tournament was celebrated by the girls from the Hot Wheels Italy team, who also represented the hosts – SDYUSSHOR named after B. Litvak.
The tournament was organized by the Charity Fund «Support and Development of Children's and Youth Basketball named after I.Ya. Keselman» with support from the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Odesa City Council and other partners.
