Nikita Sheremet: A Rising Star in Swimming
Odesa's own Nikita Sheremet made waves at the European Swimming Championships by setting a new junior world record in the final of the 4x50 freestyle relay with a stunning time of 20.84.
This success at the short-course European Championships in Lublin continues a series of record-breaking performances by Sheremet in 2025.
In August, at the junior world championships in Otopeni, Romania, he clinched gold in the 50m freestyle, clocking in at 21.75 (in a 50m pool), matching the junior world record set by American swimmer Michael Andrew, while also establishing a competition record and a Ukrainian record.
Nikita Sheremet is a product of the Odesa Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve “Dynamo”. He is coached by Alla Tymofeeva and Oleksandra Kurbanova.
