Ukrainian Boxing Championship: Success of Odessa Athletes
From November 3 to 11, the Ukrainian Boxing Championship for boys and girls born in 2011-2012 took place in Chernivtsi. A total of 370 athletes from 22 regions of Ukraine participated in the event.
Representing Odessa were athletes from the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 8, Oleksandr Shchupak, and the boxing club 'Livsha', Ismail Ismaylov.
Oleksandr Shchupak competed in the 80 kg category, winning three matches and becoming the Ukrainian champion among boys. His coaches were Volodymyr Osipchuk and Ihor Hordiienko.
In the 54 kg category, Ismail Ismaylov also claimed three victories and a gold medal. His coaches are esteemed trainers of Ukraine, Nureddin Alibeyli and Azer Mustafaev.
The team victory among the boys went to the Odessa regional team. The winners will be included in the reserve of the national boxing team of Ukraine.
