Enhancements in Cycling Infrastructure in Odessa
The municipal institution «Specialized Installation and Operation Unit» has summarized the results of the work conducted this health season along the city’s coastline.
Thanks to the establishment of a two-way bike lane from station 11 to station 16 of the Great Fountain, cyclists can now easily travel from the city center to station 16.
«The bike lane allows for safe mobility in the city. We are noticing its growing popularity, so at the mayor's request, we will continue to develop cycling routes throughout the city», said Pavel Vugelman, the deputy mayor of Odessa.
The president of the «Arcadia» cycling club also highlighted the positive changes.
«This bike lane has become the best in the city. I see that since its opening, the number of cyclists has significantly increased. People are responding actively to the new markings. It’s delightful as we observe the growth of cycling sports in Odessa», said Victoria Bondarenko.
The city plans to further develop the cycling transport infrastructure, including connecting residential areas through new cycling routes.
