Vadim Naumenko's Triumph at the Lithuanian Swimming Championships

Odesa athlete Vadim Naumenko made headlines at the Lithuanian Open Swimming Championships held in Vilnius from April 3 to 6, clinching 4 gold medals.

SUMMARY OF RESULTS

The leading swimmer from Odesa, Vadim Naumenko (coached by Oleksandra Kurbanova), achieved top honors in the 200m and 400m individual medley events, as well as in the relays – the 4x100m medley and the 4x200m freestyle.

Additionally, Vadim ranked among the top 6 swimmers of the championship and received special awards along with his coach.

MEDAL DETAILS

In his specialty – the 200m individual medley – Vadim Naumenko won with a time of 2:02.11, taking the lead from the very start, while he completed the 400m event in 4:23.07. In both cases, another Ukrainian swimmer, Anton Denisenko, placed second.

In the medley relay, the Ukrainian team, consisting of Vadim, Anton, Maksym Ovchynnikov, and Denys Kesil, achieved a time of 3:41.07, outpacing their closest rivals by 2.45 seconds.

In the 4x200m freestyle relay, the Ukrainian team won with a time of 7:30.75, finishing 1.62 seconds ahead of the silver medalists. Georgiy Lukashev substituted for Ovchynnikov in this event.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The next competition for the Odesa team will be the Ukrainian Championships scheduled for April 25-29 in Brovary.

Moreover, on April 12-13, Arseniy Poberezhnyuk and Ivan Ryaduev will participate in the international competition called “Multination.” The older participants will compete in Limassol (Cyprus), while the younger ones will be in Ljubljana (Slovenia).
