Significant Funding for Agriculture Sector in 2025
In 2025, the agricultural sector is set to receive 10.9 billion UAH, with 43% sourced from international financial institutions.
This was announced by Nina Yuzhanina, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Finance Committee, according to INTERFAX-Ukraine.
"In 2024, the budget support for agricultural producers amounted to 7.075 billion UAH, funded through programs of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the Ministry of Economy", she noted.
According to her, 39% of this funding (2.78 billion UAH) was provided by international financial organizations. The funds were allocated as subsidies per hectare (70%), subsidies for cattle maintenance (22%), and subsidies for goats and sheep (8%).
The remainder from the state budget totalled 1.36 billion UAH, directed towards grants for the creation or development of processing enterprises (65%), horticulture, berry growing, and viticulture (23%), and greenhouse farming (12%).
Yuzhanina also mentioned that budgetary support for farmers is planned to increase to 10.9 billion UAH in 2025, with 43% potentially funded by international organizations.
She reminded that in 2024, the budget for compensating costs for humanitarian demining of agricultural land was only 0.4 billion UAH. Out of the allocated funds, over 2.5 billion UAH was directed to the "Winter eSupport" payments.
