Government Allocates Over 22 Billion UAH for Reconstruction

On June 23, during an extraordinary meeting, the government decided to allocate more than 22 billion UAH, received from international partners, for the needs of the country’s reconstruction.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.

Out of this amount, nearly 18.5 billion UAH provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be directed towards medical, educational, agricultural needs, as well as humanitarian demining and the restoration of municipal infrastructure in cities.

Additionally, about 1.4 billion UAH from JICA will be invested in the energy sector’s recovery and in training sapper teams that are clearing Ukrainian land from mines.

Approximately 2.2 billion UAH in budget support from the European Union will be allocated for the modernization of port infrastructure.
