Cultural Festival in Austria: Meeting in Odessa
This October, a cultural festival is set to take place in Vienna, focusing on the friendship between cities. On October 18, the «Golden Violins of Odessa» concert will be held.
This event was discussed during a meeting between Odessa's Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov and Vienna's city hall representative Mr. Thomas Resch.
«We aim to introduce the world to Ukrainian culture. Many festival participants are alumni of the legendary Odessa School named after Stolyarsky. We are delighted that this wonderful cultural event is a result of the collaboration between Odessa and Vienna,» said the Mayor.
During the discussion, other aspects of cooperation were also addressed, particularly the extensive experience of Vienna's authorities with UNESCO, as the historic center of the city has been on the World Heritage List since 2001.
«We are very pleased that our city has been chosen to host such a conference and festival. We are ready to provide all necessary support for the organization,» noted Mr. Res.
Additionally, the Vienna side proposed holding a joint round table to discuss the protection of tangible and intangible cultural heritage and the management of a large UNESCO site using Vienna as an example.
