Exhibition ‘Invisible Strength’ at the Odesa Museum
February 7, 2025 marks the opening of the art exhibition ‘Invisible Strength’ at the Odesa National Art Museum.
This project highlights the power of nonviolent resistance among Ukrainians in temporarily occupied territories: resistance movements, methods of struggle, informational, artistic, and women's resistance, as well as real stories of fighting against the Russian aggressor.
At the opening, the project curator Olha Mukha will guide a tour.
Starts at 3:00 PM. Free admission.
The exhibition will feature: caricature figures of “Russian liberators” by Serhiy Zakharov, viral memes by Maksym Palenko, video stories about the “injured” cultural sites in Trostianets and Okhtyrka, filmed by the Museum Crisis Center as part of the “Injured Culture” project, a consciousness labyrinth “Inside the Appearance” with posters by Crimean artist Antik Danov about the schizophrenic nature of life under occupation, the documentary film “Resistance” by Akim Halimov, and video from the Ukrainer project “Deoccupation”, works by artists Maria Kulikivska, Alevtina Kakhidze, Lia Dostiieva, Yulia Po, Emine Ziyatdin, Yulia Danilevskaya, Diana Berg, Vera Protskykh, Yana Holubyatnikova, and Alona Malyarenko.
Exclusively for the exhibition in Odesa, the third episode of the “Injured Culture” series — “Odesa. Oral History” — will be presented. It recounts the story of the Russian missile strike on the Odesa Art Museum on November 5, 2023, and the recovery that followed.
The presentation of the new episode of the “Injured Culture” series and a discussion will take place on February 8 at 4:00 PM, featuring the director of the “Territory of Terror” museum, cultural expert Olha Honchar.
