New Horizons for Children's Mental Health
The war has deeply affected all participants in the educational process, causing significant stress. In these conditions, the role of teachers becomes crucial as they can provide initial psychological support to children.
On July 16, 2025, a presentation of the educational inclusive project "Alphabet of Empathy" took place at the Odesa Lyceum "European", aimed at supporting children's mental health in Ukraine.
The main goal of the "Alphabet of Empathy" project is to break down barriers and stereotypes regarding people with disabilities, fostering empathetic thinking and respect for various human experiences among children.
During the seminar, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with educational materials, engage in discussions, and share experiences.
As part of the project, teachers can undergo free online training and receive an international certificate. Educational institutions will be provided with books titled "Alphabet of Empathy" and methodological guides for educators.
The program is designed for children aged 5 to 10 years and can be conducted in a regular lesson format; it is approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The project is being implemented in Odesa by the Chepchynski Family Foundation (Poland) in collaboration with Direct Relief (USA) and other partners.
