Welcome Back to School in Odesa
The mayor of Odesa greeted students and educators on the occasion of the new school year:
"September 1st is always a special moment. It’s the day when millions of children return to their desks, open their notebooks, and embark on a new chapter in their lives. Even in these difficult times, the tradition continues. I want to express my profound gratitude to our teachers. You are true heroes. You conduct lessons amid sirens, in shelters, online, often under challenging circumstances. Yet, you continue to teach. You understand that knowledge is our future. You are shaping a generation that will rebuild and develop Ukraine. I am proud of our children. You show incredible strength - learning despite everything. You open textbooks during alarms, engage in online classes, study in shelters, and continue lessons in classrooms after the all-clear. You prove to us all that Ukrainian children cannot be frightened or broken. Today, I congratulate all residents of Odesa on Knowledge Day. I wish inspiration and wisdom to teachers, patience and support to parents, a thirst for knowledge and self-belief to our children. Together, we hold the future in our hands. And together, we are getting closer to the day when every school will operate under peaceful skies," said Hennadiy Trukhanov.
