Completion of the "16 Days Against Violence" Campaign in Odesa

The "16 Days Against Violence" campaign concluded in Odesa, running annually from November 25 to December 10.

The aim of the event was to raise public awareness of the issues surrounding domestic violence and gender-based violence, alongside ensuring equal rights for both women and men. A series of thematic events were organized in Odesa.

Many local government representatives, National Police officials, students from Odesa University of Internal Affairs, and members of the Youth Council actively participated in the campaign.

The official start of the campaign was marked on November 25 in the City Garden under the slogan "Music Against Violence".

Main events included musical performances and poetry readings by students of the Odesa National Music Academy. Additionally, an exhibition of children's drawings organized by the charity organization "Family" was showcased.

Representatives from the "Path to Home" foundation presented flowers to women as a symbol of the fight against violence.

Educational sessions, workshops, interactive games, and video contests were held for school students.

The Children's Affairs Service organized informative events, flash mobs, and discussions in its community institutions.

District administrations, together with social services, held street actions where the issue of domestic violence was discussed, and informational leaflets were distributed.

Other thematic events included the city action "Red Shoes" and the photo exhibition "Angels of Goodness".

To assess public awareness regarding domestic violence, an anonymous survey was conducted.

These activities were carried out in accordance with the mayor's order dated 20.11.2024 No. 853.
