Insights into Drug Crime Investigation
The event featured the Deputy Head of the Drug Crime Unit of the National Police in Odessa region, Dmytro Chekmarov.
Third-year students from the Institute of Law and Security had a unique opportunity to learn valuable insights from a police specialist in drug crime prevention, who shared the importance of collaboration between investigators and operational units along with practical experiences in combating drug-related crimes.
“Fighting drug-related crime is a complex and multifaceted process that requires coordinated efforts from all police units. It’s not just about apprehending drug dealers, but also identifying and dismantling drug labs, as well as tracking the entire supply chain to dependent individuals,” noted Dmytro Chekmarov.
During the session, students were introduced to the specifics of conducting covert investigative measures and the methods and forms of operational search activities in this field.
Students showed great interest in the presentation of photo and video materials from locations where drug-related crimes were discovered and stopped.
