Celebrating 20 Years of Climbing Excellence: The Specialized Sports School in Odesa
On March 30, 2025, the Specialized Children's Sports School for Climbing in Odesa celebrated its 20th anniversary.
This is the only specialized climbing school in Ukraine. Over its 20 years of existence, the hard work of coaches and athletes has elevated the school to the status of an Olympic reserve sports institution.
Approximately 1,000 athletes have been trained here, including multiple champions and medalists from world, European, and national competitions. The school has produced three international-class sports masters (Anastasia Savitsko, Konstantin Pavlenko, Grigory Ilchishin) and 21 national sports masters in climbing.
Among the guests at the celebration were local government officials, athletes, parents, and numerous attendees.
The school's director, Lyubov Zimova, was awarded a certificate of appreciation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
Before the festivities began, participants and guests were able to explore information stands that showcased the school's journey over the past 20 years.

Sport climbing is an Olympic sport that evolved from traditional climbing. It includes three disciplines: lead climbing, speed climbing, and bouldering. In each discipline, athletes navigate a course using holds placed on the climbing wall.
