New Mental Health Center Opens in Odesa
A new Mental Health Center has been established in Odesa to provide residents with access to quality psychological support in outpatient settings.
This Center began its operations last year as part of the outpatient rehabilitation department and has been functioning as a separate unit since 2025. Psychological assistance is a crucial component of the hospital's rehabilitation programs.
A multidisciplinary team of psychologists, including psychiatrists, psychotherapists, medical psychologists, and clinical psychologists, is involved in patient care.
If needed, a healthcare chaplain and social worker are also engaged to ensure a wide range of mental health support and crisis intervention.
The Center offers specialized psychiatric and psychological consultations, particularly for those affected by the war, including defenders of Ukraine and veterans. It also facilitates awareness-raising activities regarding mental health and provides support to the families of those affected.
Additionally, group and individual mental health activities, training for medical staff, and workshops on ethical communication with patients are conducted.
The Center's operations exemplify the successful integration of psychological and psychosocial assistance within the health care system of the region.
Patients are referred to the Mental Health Center by psychiatrists or family doctors.
