Innovative Approaches to Rehabilitation in Medicine
A large-scale conference focusing on modern rehabilitation in medicine has commenced in Odessa. This event is organized with the participation of Odessa National Medical University and the Rehabilitation Management Association.
Over two days, leading specialists will discuss key issues regarding the organization of rehabilitation services in southern Ukraine, including the implementation of a patient-centered approach in rehabilitation within cluster hospitals, cooperation between medical and non-medical rehabilitation service providers, the development of adaptive sports and physical rehabilitation, provision of technical rehabilitation tools, and social assistance.
Levon Nikogosyan, Director of the Odessa City Health Department, spoke about the establishment of a unified rehabilitation service system in the city.
Comprehensive rehabilitation involves extensive engagement of healthcare institutions of various ownership forms, social services, sports associations, and NGOs. Multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams operate in eight city medical facilities, and for effective coordination, a dedicated department has been created within the Health Department.
Medical institutions in Odessa have entered agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine, allowing them to provide outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, as well as psychological support free of charge under the state medical guarantee program.
Odessa's medical professionals continuously adopt the best practices from Ukraine and worldwide to implement cutting-edge rehabilitation technologies and methodologies in the city's medical institutions.
«Rehabilitation assistance is one of the most vital areas today. The consequences of war on our society can only be addressed through high-quality and effective rehabilitation,» emphasized Levon Nikogosyan, the director of the city Health Department.
