Enhancing Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities in Ukraine
Due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, there is a continuous increase in the number of people with disabilities, particularly those with serious functional impairments such as multiple limb amputations and spinal injuries.
To restore functionality and achieve effective rehabilitation, these individuals require assistive devices.
The state guarantees the supply of high-quality modern prosthetics and other rehabilitation aids, enabling individuals to regain lost functions, adapt to new circumstances, and return to active social life.
All current information about the state prosthetics program is collected on a single resource — the online platform protez.msp.gov.ua, launched by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities.
Within the framework of the program, individuals can not only receive prosthetics or other rehabilitation aids for free but also access repair, replacement, and maintenance services. Support is provided at all stages — from application submission to receiving the actual product.
The free provision of rehabilitation aids for individuals with disabilities is managed through the Social Protection Fund. The Ministry of Social Policy continually improves the state rehabilitation aid program to make the process as simple and accessible as possible.
