Health Awareness Event in Odesa
Last week, Odesa celebrated World Health Day with a large-scale health awareness event.
This initiative was organized with the support of the Odesa City Council's Department of Health and the city's Health Center.
On this day, residents had the opportunity to receive free comprehensive medical examinations at primary healthcare centers, diagnostic centers, and city hospitals. Family doctors and therapists provided consultations, measured blood pressure, blood glucose levels, pulse, and conducted ECG tests. Patients were issued electronic referrals for laboratory tests and specialist consultations as needed.
As a result of the event, 2536 residents of Odesa underwent medical check-ups. Additionally, with the assistance of the Kyiv District Administration, 55 individuals—visitors and staff of the administrative building—were examined. During the check-ups, 331 cases of high blood pressure and 200 cases of elevated blood glucose levels were identified. Based on ECG results, 258 patients were referred for cardiologist consultations.
Moreover, for patients requiring further examinations, 1112 electronic referrals for laboratory tests and 640 for specialist consultations were created. All patients received consultations from doctors.
Health days like these help to timely identify health issues, raise awareness among residents about prevention and early diagnosis of diseases, and remind them of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and caring for their health.
