Barrier-Free Week in Ukraine

Barrier-Free Week is underway in Ukraine. On May 20, a national conference titled «Path to Resilience» took place in Kyiv.

The event brought together government officials, UN representatives, local authorities, and civil society members.

Odessa was represented by the mayor's advisor on accessibility, Oleksiy Morozov, and the secretary of the Barrier-Free Council, Oleksandr Zhyltsov.

During the panel discussion focused on creating accessible conditions in communities, participants addressed practical cases, tools, and the challenges faced by Ukrainian cities.

The discussion was moderated by Tetiana Lomakina, the President of Ukraine's advisor on accessibility.

«Accessibility is about people and for people. It's encouraging that Odessa's experience is of interest. We share our achievements and draw inspiration from new ideas,» noted Oleksiy Morozov.

«We have a clear understanding of how it works, as Odessa is already establishing a system based on dialogue, cooperation, and real changes visible to the public,» added Oleksandr Zhyltsov.

Odessa's experience in inclusion is part of the national dialogue on sustainable community development. This confirms the city's commitment to accessibility and engagement.
