Fire in Odessa: Rescuers Save Lives
Yesterday morning, a fire occurred on Kira Muratova Street in Odessa, in an apartment on the top floor of a three-story residential building. The belongings of the residents in one room were engulfed in flames.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region reported this.
Firefighters swiftly extinguished the blaze and prevented it from spreading to adjacent rooms. During the firefighting efforts, two individuals were rescued from the apartment.
The likely cause of the fire was «carelessness while smoking».
To combat the fire, 7 units of equipment and 25 firefighters were deployed.
In total, there were 40 fires in the Odessa region in the past day: 7 in Odessa and 33 in other localities. Of these, firefighters had to respond to 24 incidents of dry vegetation fires covering a total area of 12 hectares.
