The gallery «#ARTODESSA» invites you to the new painting exhibition by Valeriy Kaplya titled "Flights in a Dream" (surrealistic visions).

This project features a series of works created by the artist over the past five years. Valeriy's previous exhibition at «#ARTODESSA» took place in August 2020.
Surrealism is an artistic movement that transcends the ordinary. It manifests in painting, literature, and cinema, and has long become part of our everyday life. The bizarre events occurring in our world compel us to adapt to new realities.
In Valeriy Kaplya's paintings, the complexity of the narrative and the captivating nature of the images create a unique aesthetic experience. The characters are both mysterious and alluring, while their stories are intricate and enchanting. The animals in his works are fantastical, and the objects echo a past filled with beauty and harmony.
Each piece is a complex interplay of symbols, metaphors, and unexpected interpretations. This leads to the emergence of paradoxes and, most importantly, liberation. André Breton, a founding figure of surrealism, believed that art should be a tool for the liberation of the human spirit.
In Valeriy Kaplya's works, we can observe an unrestrained flight of imagination, a deep dive into the psychology of the unconscious, exquisite «gothic» plasticity, and a philosophy of the irrational that is nonetheless beautiful.
