XVI OIFF: Cinema and Culture During Transformations

The XVI Odesa International Film Festival (OIFF) will take place from September 24 to October 4, 2025, in Kyiv.

The festival program includes European and National competition programs, extensive retrospectives of Wim Wenders and Carlos Saura, special screenings, «Focus on Poland» and «German Accent», a selection of «Best of Europe», «Gala Premieres», «Festival of Festivals», and «Human Comedy». Among the special sections are the Festival of Ukrainian Film Festivals, «The Art of Trauma», «Odesa Accent», as well as programs like «Family Values: Life», «Family Values: Children», «All Creatures — Great and Small» and «Through Friendly Eyes».

The festival will last for 11 days and showcase the best new films, high-profile premieres, meetings with filmmakers, and discussions. It’s an opportunity to experience the essence of great cinema and witness works that shape the future of the industry.

This year’s poster reflects the current state of Ukraine — heated, scarred, and cracked, yet whole and strong.

Culture, an essential part of which is cinema, serves as a powerful tool for healing and uniting the country.

The iconic image of Odesa and the Odesa International Film Festival — Duke — is complemented by a red heart on the poster as a symbol of our humanity, resilience, and capacity for empathy. All of this emphasizes this year’s OIFF slogan — “Resilience in Our DNA”.
