Commemoration of the Victims of Babyn Yar
Today in Ukraine, we honor the memory of the victims of the tragedy at Babyn Yar. This site has become a symbol of unspeakable grief and brutality, as Nazis executed tens of thousands of people — Jews, Ukrainians, Roma.
The tragedy of Babyn Yar is not just a page in history, but a reminder of the terrible cost of hatred and intolerance. Remembering the fallen, we say 'never again' and reaffirm our collective promise: such a thing must not happen again.
Odesa, along with the entire country, bows its head in memory of the innocently slain.
In connection with the anniversary, a flower-laying ceremony was held in Prokhorovskyi Square in Odesa at the memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and ghetto prisoners.
May their memory be eternal for all who perished at Babyn Yar.
