Honoring the Courage of Ukrainian Defenders
Today, October 1st, Ukraine commemorates Defenders Day. This day is dedicated to honoring the indomitable spirit of those who fought for and defended Ukraine's independence, as well as the bravery of Ukrainian soldiers, volunteers, and veterans who are currently safeguarding our territory.
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, extended his greetings on this occasion:
«Dear defenders! On behalf of myself and the entire Odesa community, from every family and every heart, we express our gratitude to you. You are the ones who keep the light in our windows. The ones who do not allow fear to settle in our hearts. Thanks to you, we have a future. We do not just give thanks; we support you: we work, volunteer, and pray. We are not merely waiting — we are building the country to which you will return victorious. May each of our «thank you» become your armor. May every child's smile, every peaceful morning, and every new day be proof that your fight is not in vain. May God protect Ukraine!»
