Arrest of Explosive Trader in Izmail

A 39-year-old man from Izmail was apprehended by law enforcement for attempting to sell dangerous grenades. He was caught during a deal involving two F-1 grenades for 5,000 hryvnias.

Upon receiving information about the man's intention to sell munitions, operatives documented the transfer of the grenades near the railway station. During the arrest, the police seized the grenades, detonators, and the money received from the illegal sale.

The detained individual explained that the grenades came into his possession after a relative's death, and he decided to sell them. He was charged under part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of explosives), which carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison. The court ordered his detention as a preventive measure.

"Law enforcement reminds that voluntary surrender of weapons and munitions can exempt one from criminal liability" - the statement reads.
