Support for Ukraine's Energy Sector: New Agreements with EBRD

The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, have signed an agreement to support the development of Ukraine's energy sector.

According to "European Truth", Shmyhal announced this news on Facebook.

The agreement includes a provision for Ukraine to receive 270 million euros backed by government guarantees, along with a 140 million euro grant from the Norwegian government.

"This will enable Naftogaz of Ukraine to import significant volumes of natural gas in preparation for the upcoming heating season," Shmyhal explained.

He noted that since the start of the full-scale war, the EBRD has mobilized over 6 billion euros for Ukraine in loans, grants, and guarantees.

It was previously reported that by 2025, the EBRD plans to invest at least 1.5 billion euros to support the economy and businesses in Ukraine during wartime.

Specifically, 1 billion euros is set to go towards supporting Ukraine's energy sector.
