Temporary Shutdown of Odessa Boiler Due to Repairs
Today, November 12, one of the boilers in Odessa had to suspend operations for six hours due to chimney reconstruction.
Immediately after the previous heating season ended, the KP «TMO» commissioned a complete inspection of all chimneys. In June, a conclusion was received stating that one chimney required emergency repairs — at «North-1».
As noted by Odessa's Deputy Mayor Hanna Pozdnyakova, there are no similar projects in the country considering the height of the chimney (120 meters). A crane with a lifting capacity of 600 tons and a weight of 970 tons was ordered for the work.
There are very few such cranes in Ukraine, and they are used for restoration work on energy facilities after attacks from hostile territories.
«According to the schedule, the crane was supposed to be on the site of KP «TMO» back in August, but due to reasons beyond our control, the timeline was significantly delayed — the equipment was engaged in other critical tasks. Moreover, this level and scale of work require highly qualified specialists, and given our realities, their availability has also proven to be a challenge. We are working under circumstances that we cannot influence,» emphasized Hanna Pozdnyakova.
KP «TMO» apologizes for the temporary inconveniences and emphasizes that it is doing everything possible to ensure that the heating supply to Odessa residents is stable and reliable throughout the heating season.
