Revamping of Heroes' Tribune Square in Odessa
Starting from August 9, 2024, comprehensive renovation works have begun at Heroes' Tribune Square in Odessa.
As Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov pointed out, it is necessary to repair certain sections of the old tracks to ensure the safe operation of new modern trams that have arrived in the city.
The work is being carried out according to schedule, in phases, and includes the repair of the roadway, tram tracks, external lighting, and landscaping of green areas.
Currently, the tram tracks at the square have been completely replaced in both directions towards the city center and Lustdorf. The road surface has been leveled with the tram rails, improving transit and increasing the traffic capacity. Road markings will be applied soon.
Additionally, the external lighting system has been upgraded with energy-efficient fixtures, significantly enhancing nighttime safety and reducing electricity costs.
Landscaping of green zones is also ongoing.
The works are being conducted without halting traffic flow. Specialists from KP "Odesmiskelektrotrans", KP "Miskzelentrest", KP "Odesmisksvitlo", and the Road Management Department are involved in the project.
