New Year Mini Basketball Festival in Odesa
On January 5, the sports hall of the Odesa Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve named after Boris Litvak hosted the annual mini basketball festival as part of the NOC of Ukraine's initiative "Do Like Olympians".
This festive sports event during the New Year period has become a good tradition and celebrated its fourth occurrence.
The main participants of the festival, alongside the young athletes, were the leading teams of the Odesa region: the men's team "BIPA-Odesa" (head coach - Oleksandr Ryabchuk, captain - Dmytro Solovey) and the women's team "Interchem-SDYUSSHOR named after B. Litvak" (head coach - Iryna Shchypakina, captain - Svitlana Baturina).
About two hundred basketball players aged 7 and older, representing various sports schools and clubs in Odesa, took part in the event.
Children participated in quizzes and workshops with famous players. At the end of the event, all participants received gifts - New Year treats from the Odesa city and regional basketball federations, as well as Olympic prizes from the NOC of Ukraine in the Odesa region. The SDYUSSHOR named after B. Litvak received a set of basketballs.
The event was organized by the Odesa City Basketball Federation, the NOC of Ukraine in the Odesa region, the Odesa Regional Basketball Federation, and the SDYUSSHOR named after Boris Litvak.
